Green Bay Packers star running back AJ Dillon is rallying to the defense of law enforcement after recently being grabbed by the collar and pushed around by a Green Bay police officer patrolling Lambeau Field during the first ever pro soccer match played there.

“Just miscommunication between parties, the @GBPolice are great people and I’m glad we have them down there for our games to keep us safe,” Dillon later tweeted, adding that he was told by two security workers it was okay to go on the field.

“Standing there in the pouring rain with all those people it’s hard to know what’s going on with just one,” he added. “All good.”

According to news reports, Dillon was one of more than 70,000 fans in attendance and tried to go on the field to cheer up the crowd during a rain delay. All told, the Manchester City- Bayern Munich preseason match was delayed twice due to weather and ended up starting an hour late.

In the end, the video of Dillon being grabbed by the officer went viral, and the incident marked the second time he has made social media headlines this month due to tackle related reasons.

Just last week, Dillon turned heads when he leveled a baseball mascot with a bone-rattling hit during a celebrity softball game.
