In-state tuition and fees rose 1.4 percent for 2018-19 at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Wisconsin residents paid $4,479 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $64 more than the $4,415 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 44.9 percent more than residents this year, or $6,492. Their price tag grew 1.5 percent from $6,398 in 2017-18.

About 94 percent of the school’s undergraduate population are Wisconsin residents. And about 6 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 70 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 241 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.1 million and 186 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (11,505), 2,836 students used grants or scholarships totaling $12.2 million, and 1,627 students took out $10.2 million in federal student loans.
