FOIA Request to City of Shawano Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.

In our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Green Bay Reporter have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the City of Shawano. The request, sent on November 7, 2024, seeks access to a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.

As a media organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency for the public, access to such records is essential for us in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. We believe that as media professionals involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver.

We look forward to working with the City of Shawano in obtaining this information and will continue our efforts in providing transparency and accountability within our community.
