FOIA Request to Oconto County Regarding Public Records from January to October 2024 on October 7, 2024.

The Green Bay Reporter, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, has submitted a request for public records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law. The request was sent electronically on October 7, 2024.

The records requested pertain to FOIA logs that were sent to Oconto County from January 1, 2024 till October 7, 2024. The specific fields requested include the requester’s name and organization, the content of the request, the date of the request and its completion date, as well as the status of the FOIA.

As a media organization dedicated to gathering and reporting news to the public, we at Green Bay Reporter believe access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we have also requested for a fee waiver as a media professional.

We are awaiting response from Oconto County regarding this request.
