FOIA Request Sent to Town of Birnamwood Regarding 2024 Election Same Day Registered Voters on November 7, 2024

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Town of Birnamwood regarding a list of new voters who registered on the day of the election, November 5, 2024. The request was made on November 7, 2024.

As members of Green Bay Reporter, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe in the importance of transparency and accountability in public institutions. Access to public records such as these is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities.

The request was made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., and we have requested that the information be provided in an electronic format for ease of access and dissemination.

Given our role in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver as media professionals. We firmly believe that access to this information will help us provide more comprehensive coverage of the election process and ensure that our audience is well-informed about local government affairs.

We are currently awaiting a response from the Town of Birnamwood regarding our request.
