A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Town of Carlton in Wisconsin regarding new voter registrations on November 7, 2024.

As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Green Bay Reporter have requested records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., specifically a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.

We believe that access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities, which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional.

The request is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in local government processes and activities. We will continue to keep the public informed about developments related to this request and other matters of public interest.
