A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Town of Wyoming in Wisconsin by Green Bay Reporter on November 7, 2024. The request sought access to records of voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024.

As a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Green Bay Reporter believe that access to public records is crucial for our work. This information allows us to hold public institutions accountable and ensure transparency for the public.

In our request, we specifically asked for a list of new voter registrations from the recent election day. This data is critical in analyzing voter turnout and participation trends, which are key indicators of the health of our democratic processes.

We made this request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., expressing preference for electronic format for ease of analysis and dissemination. As a media entity involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we also requested a fee waiver.

We remain committed to keeping our readers informed about important local government matters and will continue seeking necessary information through legal channels like FOIA requests.
