A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Village of Ashwaubenon on November 7, 2024. The request, filed by us at Green Bay Reporter, sought details about new voter registrations from the recently concluded election day.

We specifically requested a list of voters who registered on November 5, 2024. This information is crucial in understanding the voting patterns and trends that emerged during this election cycle. It will also help us to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

As a media organization committed to transparency and accountability, we believe that access to public records is essential for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. We aim to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public through our reporting.

We have asked for these records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., preferably in electronic format. As a member of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.

We look forward to receiving this information from the Village of Ashwaubenon so that we can continue our mission of providing comprehensive news coverage on local governmental affairs.
