FOIA Request to Village of Howard Regarding Same Day Registered Voters for 2024 Election on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at Green Bay Reporter have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Village of Howard. The request was sent on November 7, 2024, seeking a list of new voter registrations that occurred on Election Day, November 5, 2024.
Access to public records is vital for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities as journalists. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As such, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals given our role in disseminating information.
