FOIA Request to Village of Wittenberg Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Green Bay Reporter have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Village of Wittenberg. The request, made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., specifically seeks a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.

As a media organization, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.

We will continue our pursuit of transparency and accountability in local government and look forward to sharing the results of this request with our readers. We encourage any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
