The Green Bay Area Public School District has announced the acquisition of 66 Zoll AED 3 units to replace existing automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in schools and provide additional units for athletic trainers. This announcement was made in a press release on February 11, 2025.
According to the district, these new AED units feature a five-year battery life, full-color rescue images, and universal pads suitable for both adults and children. In recognition of American Heart Month, the district commended its facilities department for its commitment to ensuring the health and safety of students, staff, athletes, and visitors.
ZOLL Medical Corporation states that the ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator includes features such as Real CPR Help technology, RapidShock analysis, integrated pediatric rescue capabilities, and WiFi connectivity for remote monitoring. The device provides real-time CPR feedback to ensure proper chest compressions and reduces shock delivery time to enhance patient outcomes. It uses CPR Uni-padz electrodes for both adults and children, streamlining rescue efforts. Optional cloud connectivity enables automatic device status reporting to ensure readiness when needed.
“Over the years, the District has been fortunate to have AEDs in our buildings,” said Safety and Security Manager Chris Collar. “The decision to replace all of our AEDs at one time allows the District to have uniformity in training of our staff and in purchasing replacement parts.”
The Green Bay Area Public School District is located in Northeast Wisconsin and is the fourth largest public school district in the state. It serves over 18,000 students across 39 schools.
