Heart disease is the leading cause of death in Wisconsin. In many cases, people can prevent heart disease. People can literally take steps to lower their chance of heart disease and its risk factors, like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes.

Walking is one of the easiest ways to reduce a person’s risk for heart disease. Research shows that walking as little as 30 minutes a day can reduce a person’s risk of heart disease by 40%.

Join the Mayor and other City staff for 30 minute walks will be held at noon starting on the corner of Walnut and Jefferson on the following dates: September 6, September 13, September 20, September 27, September 29.
