Rep. Tony Wied, who represents Wisconsin’s 8th congressional district, shared a series of updates on his social media account between April 5 and April 7, 2026. The posts ranged from holiday greetings to commentary on legislative matters and local business visits.

On April 5, Wied posted an Easter message to his constituents: “Wishing everyone across #WI08 a very blessed and Happy Easter! ‘He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.’ – Matthew 28:6”.

The following day, Wied addressed ongoing debates in Congress regarding funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). On April 6 he wrote: “Democrats continue to hold DHS hostage to appeal to the radical left that wants to return to open borders. House Republicans did our job and passed all twelve appropriations bills, but Democrats would rather play political games than do theirs.”

On April 7, Wied described a recent visit with a local manufacturer in Appleton: “Enjoyed visiting Pierce HQ in Appleton. I got the chance to learn about their fire truck painting process, as well as how the company works closely with first responders to ensure they receive the highest-quality products. It was awesome to get the opportunity to help with the”.

Tony Wied won election to Congress in 2024 after defeating Kristin Lyerly by a margin of approximately fifteen percentage points.
