Rep. Tony Wied, a Republican representing Wisconsin, has recently used his social media platform to comment on the ongoing government shutdown and to highlight his community engagement activities.

On October 13, 2025, Wied posted, “I joined my WI Republican colleagues to urge @SenatorBaldwin to end to this unnecessary government shutdown by voting for our clean CR. WI families cannot afford these political games. The Democrats’ shutdown is causing real consequences for our state and it must end now.”

The following day, on October 14, 2025, Wied continued his criticism of Senate Democrats, stating, “It’s been two weeks since the Democrats chose to shut down the government to cater to the far-left. House Republicans are ready to get back to work and continue fighting for the American people, but Senate Democrats refuse to stop holding our government hostage.”

In a separate post on October 14, 2025, Wied highlighted his involvement in local charitable efforts, writing, “Angela and I enjoyed spending the afternoon at the NEW Community Shelter to help serve dinner to those in need in our community. They have been serving Green Bay for 30 years, and it was an honor to be part of their mission. I look forward to returning soon and encourage anyone”.

Wied’s recent public statements come after his victory in the 2024 general election, where he defeated Kristin Lyerly with 57.3% of the vote to Lyerly’s 42.6%. The posts reflect both his stance on national legislative issues and his ongoing engagement with local organizations in Green Bay.
