Rep. Tony Wied, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, recently used his social media platform to highlight legislative initiatives and policy positions, including border security, public safety legislation, and veteran recognition.

On July 21, 2025, Rep. Wied commented on immigration policy by stating: “In just a few months, President Trump and his team have secured our southern border. This chart is yet another reminder that an open border was a policy choice of Joe Biden and the Democrats.”

The following day, July 22, 2025, he expressed support for new Senate legislation: “Thank you to @TimSheehyMT for introducing the SAFE Cities Act in the Senate. It’s time to stop rewarding radical elected officials for putting violent extremists over law-abiding citizens. I look forward to working with him get this signed into law.” The SAFE Cities Act has been introduced as part of ongoing efforts to address concerns about crime and local government policies regarding law enforcement.

Later on July 22, Rep. Wied announced bipartisan cooperation on veterans’ issues: “I’m proud to join @SenatorBaldwin to introduce the Honoring Operation End Sweep Veterans Act—Inspired by our constituent, Ret. Navy Commander Michael Cosgrove. Vietnam vets who served in Operation End Sweep showed immense bravery and deserve full recognition for their service.” Operation End Sweep was a post-Vietnam War mission focused on clearing naval mines from North Vietnamese waters.

Rep. Wied’s recent statements reflect ongoing debates in Congress about immigration enforcement under different presidential administrations; legislative responses to urban crime; and efforts to recognize veterans who participated in specialized military operations after major conflicts.
