Rep. Tony Wied, who won the 2024 general election against Kristin Lyerly with 57.3% of the vote, has recently shared several statements on his official Twitter account reflecting on national unity, remembrance, and recent losses.

On September 10, 2025, Wied paid tribute to a prominent conservative activist: “Charlie Kirk was a true American Patriot and his legacy will live on for generations to come. My prayers are with his family during this extremely difficult time.”

The following day, he commented on the foundational values of the United States: “We are a nation built on freedom of speech and the belief that we can engage in passionate debates and disagreements, but at the end of the day, we are all Americans. Read my op-ed in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel below.”

Later that same day, Wied marked the anniversary of September 11th with a message honoring victims and first responders: “Today and every day, we remember the nearly 3,000 Americans who lost their lives in the horrific attacks on 9/11, and we honor the courage of the incredible first responders who answered the call that day. We will Never Forget.”

Wied’s public remarks follow his electoral victory in Wisconsin’s general election over Kristin Lyerly by a margin of nearly 15 percentage points.
