After months of speculation and debate, it appears that Aaron Rodgers will return to the Green Bay Packers for this upcoming season.
Rodgers, who led the team to the NFC championship game appearance last season against the eventual Super Bowl winners, Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, showed up to training camp this week as looks to cement his legacy as one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play with a second title to his resume.
Green Bay Packers President Mark Murphy had a tongue-in-cheek response to what had been a very tumultuous offseason between the franchise quarterback and the organization.
“I was pleasantly surprised, I thought there would be more booing either against us or Aaron,” he said.
This news about Rodgers comes after weeks of speculation, debate and compromise over terms of his playing, his contract and other factors.
This could be Rodgers' final season with the team, which could leave more wiggle room for the team to sign wide receiver Devonte Adams, who led the league in touchdowns.
Rodgers and Adams both hinted at one last title run by posting pictures alluding to Michael Jordan’s “The Last Dance” documentary when he led the Chicago Bulls to their last championship run in 1998 on Instagram.
As of now, no decisions, terms or announcements have been finalized by the NFL, Packers or Rodgers as to the future of the star signal caller with the team.
