Rep. Tony Wied, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives who won his seat in 2024 by defeating Kristin Lyerly, has posted several statements on social media addressing recent political events and interactions in Washington.

On September 18, 2025, Wied commented on reactions to two high-profile incidents: "The left is more upset that Jimmy Kimmel was pulled off the air than they are about Charlie Kirk being assassinated. When these people show you who they are, believe them."

Later that same day, Wied shared a message about hosting another legislator: "It was great to welcome @RepBehnke and his family to Washington and get a chance to show them around the Capitol."

On September 19, 2025, Wied addressed a congressional vote regarding Charlie Kirk: "58 Democrats voted against a resolution that simply honored the life of Charlie Kirk. These people are morally bankrupt."

Wied's remarks come less than a year after he secured his seat in Congress by winning 57.3% of the vote against Kristin Lyerly in the 2024 general election.
