Rep. Tony Wied, who won the 2024 general election against Kristin Lyerly, has recently used his social media platform to comment on key legislative and community issues.

On October 16, 2025, Wied criticized Democratic lawmakers for their voting record regarding government funding measures. He stated, “No matter how many times they try to spin it, Democrats like @SenatorBaldwin have voted to keep the government closed 10 TIMES. That’s 10 votes against federal workers, small business owners, farmers, and service members. Put Americans first. Pass the clean CR.”

Later that day, Wied highlighted his participation in a local event by posting: “Yesterday, I attended the groundbreaking for the new Denmark Community Center and Library. It was great to join other local leaders to celebrate this exciting new project that will benefit the whole community.” This statement underscores his involvement in regional development initiatives.

On October 17, 2025, Wied expressed support for recent actions by President Biden concerning healthcare affordability: “Another huge win for American families. @POTUS promised to lower the cost of IVF and fertility drugs and that is exactly what he is delivering. Promises made, promises kept.”

Wied’s comments come after securing his seat in Congress during the 2024 general election where he received 57.3% of the vote compared to opponent Kristin Lyerly’s 42.6%. His recent statements reflect ongoing debates about federal spending priorities and healthcare policy.
