Rep. Tony Wied, a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, addressed several issues in recent posts on his social media account, ranging from state language policy to public health concerns and sports broadcasting for Wisconsin residents.

On September 3, 2025, Wied criticized changes to official terminology by Governor Tony Evers, stating: “Here we go again. First, @GovEvers changes ‘mother’ to ‘inseminated person.’ Now, he’s changing ‘father’ to ‘other parent.’ The left can’t accept that there are two genders.”

The following day, Wied raised questions about the role of public health officials in addressing chronic illness rates: “For far too long, our public health officials have failed us. We need to find out exactly why chronic illnesses have skyrocketed in recent years and why our leaders have done nothing about it. The American people deserve answers.” This post reflects ongoing national debates regarding the accountability of health agencies and rising rates of chronic disease.

Later on September 4, Wied announced new legislation aimed at ensuring statewide access to Green Bay Packers broadcasts: “Every Wisconsinite should be able to watch the @packers. However, 13 WI counties have been assigned to out-of-state markets and are forced to endure Lions or Vikings games. That’s why today, I introduced the Go Pack Go Act to ensure every fan can cheer on the green and gold.”

Wied was elected in 2024 after defeating Kristin Lyerly with 57.3% of the vote.
