Green Bay nonprofits held a recent event offering necessities to members of the community who were in need.

Family & Childcare Resources of Northeastern Wisconsin (FCRNEW) hosted an event full of resources for community members, including a diaper giveaway, according to We Are Green Bay.

“We definitely get a lot of feedback, everyone wants to know when we’re going to have the next one, they call every month hoping that we have it again," Outreach & Communications Specialist with Family and Childcare Resources of Northeast Wisconsin Lauren Waters said, according to We Are Green Bay. "So we know that this is such a need for the community members and we’re excited to be able to keep helping people."

We Are Green Bay reports that individuals and families learned about resources available to them that they may not know about.

Family & Childcare Resources of Northeastern Wisconsin was established in 2008 after a two-organization merger of Fort Howard Neighborhood Resource Center and Community Childcare Connections. The nonprofits offered services, education and support to Northeast Wisconsin residents at the time of their merge. Services currently offered by the organization include child care referrals, home visitations, parenting support groups, resource rooms, continuing education for providers and professionals, YoungStar child care rating and improvement system, child care startup support and data collection, according to the FCRNEW website.

"We connect with others who are passionate about helping strengthen children and families," the FCRNEW website states. "Strong families build a strong community, which is why every single one of these people and groups are vital to the future of our community. You can help Family & Childcare Resources of N.E.W. through volunteering, donations and early childhood advocacy."
