The East Town Mall area of Green Bay is experiencing a resurgence, with a popular sandwich shop opening there, WFRV reported.

"When we looked for redevelopment and that property became available, and when multiple national players started looking at that site as well, we knew that was the right place to be," Jason Westhoff, Cousins Subs president, told WFRV.

The store chose to move east when the lease on its westside location was up for renewal, Westoff said. He plans to invest millions of dollars in the Green Bay and Appleton areas over the next few years, WFRV reported.

Naveah Vang, manager of the Green Tea Drive-Thru Chinese restaurant, said the East Town Mall area had been turning into a ghost town, but businesses are now moving back.

"I have been in Green Bay my whole life, and started going to the theaters at East Town Mall, to sort of becoming a ghost town where nobody went, and to see it developed is really exciting," Vang said.

Shoreline Credit Union will also have a branch located in the area, the first outside of Manitowoc County, WFRV said.

"We usually have to travel out more for the mall or whatever, but I'm excited that this mall is actually becoming a mall," Vang said.
