For one day only, on April 3, 2025, the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will host its annual Giving Day event. This initiative invites alumni, faculty, staff, and community leaders to contribute to the university's mission of transforming the region through education.
The UW-Green Bay Council of Trustees has pledged to match all donations dollar-for-dollar up to $65,000. This means every contribution made during this 24-hour period will have double the impact on the university's students and programs.
Since its inception, UW-Green Bay has been a hub for education and innovation in the region. The Giving Day event is an opportunity for donors to support various aspects of the university's offerings, from performances at The Weidner Center to research within the College of Science, Engineering and Technology. Contributions can also support programs in the Cofrin School of Business or Green Bay Phoenix Athletics teams.
Jim Filter, a UW-Green Bay alumnus and Executive Vice President at Schneider, exemplifies how former students continue to give back. "UW-Green Bay helped get me where I am today," said Filter. "It’s really special to feel like you’re giving back." He supports the new Master of Science in Supply Chain Management program both professionally and personally.
Supporters are encouraged to donate by visiting www.uwgb.edu/giving-day/ before April 3. Donors can choose specific areas such as The Weidner Center or Need-Based Scholarships for their contributions.
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay serves over 11,000 students annually across four campuses in Northeast Wisconsin. It offers more than 200 academic degrees and certificates while welcoming learners globally since opening in 1965.
