The Green Bay Packers have added three players to their practice squad, according to an announcement from General Manager Brian Gutekunst on Thursday. The team signed tackle Dalton Cooper, quarterback Clayton Tune, and tight end Josh Whyle.
Dalton Cooper is a rookie offensive lineman who previously signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent earlier this year. He played college football at Texas State before transferring to Oklahoma State for his final two seasons. During his collegiate career, Cooper appeared in 59 games with 55 starts and received several honors, including honorable mention All-Big 12 recognition in 2023 and third-team All-Sun Belt honors in 2021. He will wear No. 78 for the Packers.
Clayton Tune joins the Packers after spending two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, who selected him in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Tune played in 13 games with one start for Arizona, completing 14 of 23 passes for 70 yards and rushing for a touchdown. At the University of Houston, he was a three-time team captain and finished second in school history in both career touchdown passes (104) and touchdowns responsible for (119). Tune will wear No. 19.
Josh Whyle comes to Green Bay following two years with the Tennessee Titans, where he was also drafted in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. In his time with Tennessee, Whyle played in 28 games—starting seven—and recorded a total of 37 receptions for 342 yards and two touchdowns. Last season marked career highs for him in receptions (28), receiving yards (248), and special teams tackles (four). While at Cincinnati, Whyle set a school record for most career receiving touchdowns by a tight end with fifteen. He will wear No. 81.
