The Green Bay Area Public School (GBAPS) District announced that several of its students had the opportunity to participate in the 2025 NFL Draft outside Lambeau Field.

According to a news release, on the first day of the 2025 NFL Draft, Red Smith School student Madison Vang represented Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin (BBBS) as a "Little Reporter," interviewing NFL prospects on the red carpet. That evening, BBBS Littles and GBAPS students Aaliyah Hargrove from Elmore Elementary, Amiyah Hargrove from Franklin Middle School, and Giovani Vazquez from Southwest High School joined NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, former Packers players, and rapper Lil Wayne on stage to open the draft event.

The following night, Marcellus Calhoun-Jiles from Leonardo da Vinci School for Gifted Learners and Kenia Delgadillo from East High School participated in the NFL Draft by walking out with former Green Bay Packers player Jordy Nelson to announce the No. 54 pick in the second round. Delgadillo was recently named the 2024-2025 Youth of the Year for the Bay & Lakes Region by the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay.

This once-in-a-lifetime experience was made possible by the NFL Draft, the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin. These organizations offered GBAPS students, local community organizations, and the Green Bay area a memorable and impactful event.

The Green Bay Area Public School District is located in Northeast Wisconsin and is the fourth-largest public school district in the state. It serves over 18,000 students across 39 schools. Founded in 1856, it includes communities such as Allouez, Ledgeview, Bellevue, Green Bay, and Scott. The district offers various educational pathways to meet student needs and has a long history that includes a century-old football rivalry between East and West high schools as well as City Stadium's role as the original home field for the Green Bay Packers. The district's mission is to prepare students for success in college, careers, and their communities.
