The Green Bay Packers have announced a series of fan events called "Packers Huddle" to take place in Europe this fall. The gatherings are scheduled for Dublin on September 27, London on October 11, and Berlin on November 8-9. These events are timed to coincide with international NFL games occurring in each city the following Sunday.
Although the Packers will not be playing overseas this season, fans in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Germany will have the chance to connect with other supporters and experience activities that include meeting Packers legends, taking photos, winning prizes, sampling Wisconsin-inspired foods typical of a Packers tailgate, and enjoying live entertainment such as music and interviews. The team stated that further details regarding venues and event schedules will be shared soon.
"In April, the Packers were awarded marketing rights in Ireland, the United Kingdom and Germany, through the NFL's Global Markets Program, allowing the organization to pursue specialized international marketing efforts including events and programming, targeted digital initiatives, specially curated content and other fan engagement opportunities."
As part of these new international rights granted by the NFL's Global Markets Program—an initiative started in 2022 to help clubs expand their reach outside the United States—the Packers are expanding their presence through both live events and digital outreach. For example, they have launched a German-language Instagram account tailored specifically for German fans. More information about these efforts is available at https://www.packers.com/international.
The Global Markets Program gives teams at least five years to engage with their assigned countries using similar strategies as they would domestically. Teams submit proposals annually for consideration by the league’s International Committee.
The Green Bay Packers are known as one of the most storied franchises in American football. Established in 1919 and based in Green Bay—a city with just over 100,000 residents—they are unique as the only community-owned team among U.S. professional sports organizations. Over half a million fans hold shares in the club. The franchise has achieved 13 championships including four Super Bowl titles.
Lambeau Field has been sold out since 1960 and is regarded as offering one of sports’ best gameday experiences. Fans across Wisconsin embrace their identity as "Cheeseheads," symbolized by foam cheese hats reflecting local dairy heritage.
"The club's legendary home stadium, Lambeau Field, has sold out every game since 1960 and is celebrated as one of the best gameday experiences in sports. Generations of Packers season ticket holders are known to warmly welcome all fans to their pregame tailgate parties."
