The City of Green Bay recently launched its first Pop-Up City Hall event at Ted Fritsch Park, where residents engaged in discussions with city officials. Mayor Eric Genrich and city staff expressed appreciation to those who participated and to the employees who organized the event.
According to city officials, the goal of Pop-Up City Hall is to bring government services directly into neighborhoods, allowing for more direct interaction between residents and leadership. Three additional events are scheduled throughout September and early October: September 18 at Farlin Park, September 25 at Leicht Park, and October 2 at Murphy Park. All events will run from 3:30 to 5:00 PM.
The initiative aims to improve access to elected officials and city services. It provides a setting for residents to discuss concerns, ask questions about permits or programs, and share feedback on community resources.
"Local government works best when it reflects the voices, concerns, and priorities of the entire community. Pop-Up City Hall events provide residents with direct access to decision-makers and the opportunity to shape policies that affect daily life in Green Bay neighborhoods," according to information released by the city.
City leaders say that this approach extends beyond these four events as part of a broader commitment to accessible government. They view Pop-Up City Hall as a model for ongoing engagement with citizens in various neighborhoods.
"This initiative builds on Green Bay's strong tradition of neighborhood engagement while creating new pathways for residents to connect with their local government. The feedback and insights gathered during these events will inform city priorities and help ensure municipal services meet community needs," according to the statement.
Residents are invited to attend any of the upcoming sessions. More information can be found at www.greenbaywi.gov.
