Democratic lawmakers and Wisconsin voters recently packed a park in Green Bay in an effort to express their disapproval with how the state's legislative maps are drawn and protest for what they believe would be a fairer process.

State Rep. Deb Andraca (D-Whitefish Bay) addressed those who gathered at the Fair Maps Rally on Aug. 28. In a tweet, Andraca later called the event a "huge success" and said she was happy to talk about a Fair Maps Bill she believes deserves a hearing in the legislature.

"'We should win on message, not on maps.' - @RepAndraca my brilliant colleague and office mate at the Fair Maps rally," Rep. Lee Snodgrass (D-Appleton) wrote in a tweet.

A caravan from De Pere all the way to Green Bay allowed drivers to honk their horns and express their feelings about Wisconsin's political maps and issues of gerrymandering, WBAY reported.

According to Fox 11 News, the caravan ended with a rally at Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay where several state representatives were in attendance. The event was organized by the Wisconsin Fair Maps Coalition, a Democratic-leaning group.

The caravan and rally happened about two weeks after data from the 2020 census was released by the U.S. Census Bureau which gave the groups evidence and data to support their arguments on redistricting, Fox 11 News reported.
