Pundits are speculating on the future of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the aftermath of the Packers’ 13-10 NFC Divisional playoff loss against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Packers, who were seeded No. 1 with a 13-4 record and as NFC North champions, loss to the 49ers on a walk-off field goal on Jan. 22 at Lambeau Field, leaving Rodgers feeling “a little numb, for sure,” the Packers’ game recap said.

Critics are wondering where Rodgers’ football career will take him.

The Packers are “hopeful” that Rodgers will be back with them next year, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said in a video in which he answers a question as to whether or not Rodgers would be the Packers’ quarterback next year.

“I think we’re all a little numb to the situation right now. What we talked about I’m definitely going to keep between him and myself,” LaFleur said in the video. “This guy has done so much for such a long period of time for this organization, for this city, for this team. I want to be respectful of his process, whatever he needs to go through to make the best decision for himself. Certainly, we would love for him to be a Packer and be a Packer until the day he decides to retire.”

Rodgers doesn’t want to be part of a rebuild, if he continues playing, the New York Post said.

Rodgers, 38, has options as to where he plays for next, including going with the Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns or Philadelphia Eagles, Fansided.com said.

Having 17 years of experience, the 6-foot-2-inch, 225-pound Rodgers recently was named Most Valuable Player for 2021 by the Pro Football Writers of America, the Packers said.

"Rodgers also earned the PFWA honor in 2011, 2014 and last year, in conjunction with his other three NFL MVPs bestowed by the AP," the Packers said.
