Jason Rebrovich has been named the new outside linebackers coach for the Green Pay Packers, replacing Mike Smith, the team announced.
"Jason Rebrovich comes to Green Bay with eight seasons of NFL coaching experience and two decades total," the team said on Twitter.
The Packers will be his third NFL team. Previously, Rebrovich worked with the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars.
"Jacksonville's defensive line in 2017 produced three Pro Bowlers in Calais Campbell, Yannick Ngakoue and Malik Jackson," the Packers said. "That season, the Jaguars ranked second in the league with 55 sacks."
With the hiring of Rebrovich, the Packers seem to have their 2022 coaching staff nailed down and decided, the website Acme Packing reported.
Rebrovich has experience in "a variety of defensive coaching roles – quality control, assistant defensive line, defensive line and outside linebackers," the Packers said.
"Most of his experience is as a defensive line coach," the team said. "He did coach outside linebackers with Buffalo in 2015."
Rebrovich began his coaching career 20 years ago at his alma mater, SUNY Cortland, as a defensive line and strength coach, the Packers said.
"After short stints coaching at Concord and Ferris State, he returned to his alma mater as defensive coordinator for three seasons (2008-10) before moving up to the Division I ranks as a defensive assistant with Syracuse (2011-12)," the team said. "That was his last college job, and he's been in the NFL ever since."
