A longtime employee of the Green Bay Packers said she will retire during the offseason.

Marge Switzer served as a seamstress for the Green Bay Packers for 27 years before retiring this year. She began her career with the team alone, but now she leaves behind a department of five, plus an intern and part-time assistance.

What started as a small department that was in charge of sewing coaches' names onto their shirts in the '90s blossomed into a core part of the Packers organization. The team has put Switzer front and center in many of their online marketing materials throughout the years, meaning she is a familiar face for many Packers fans, especially those that frequent Packers.com.

At first, Switzer wasn't so sure about her new job as the team seamstress, she said.

"I had no clue if I'd last a year. There weren't any models. No other team had a seamstress. They had the lady at the dry cleaners, the lady who sewed out of their home. I just worked in the basement below the locker room in the old building on a cafeteria table with just myself and my books on tape, and one sewing machine," she said.

Throughout her time with the team, Switzer refined the wardrobe process and took immense pride in her work and the work of her team. She made a connection with players, coaches and organization leadership.

When asked about her future plans, Switzer confidently said, "I'm going to quilt in the winter, garden in the summer and travel whenever I can. That's what's in store for Marge Switzer."
