For the first time ever, a soccer match is coming to Lambeau Field.
The football stadium will be the home to an exhibition game in July for two European teams, with tickets soon to be available to the general public, Spectrum News 1 reported.
"Our home stadium is renowned for its history and tradition, and we're honored to host two equally historic clubs from across the pond," Packers President Mark Murphy said in a release. "We're looking forward to seeing their devoted supporters from around the world attend Lambeau Field's debut soccer match."
Representatives from the Packers said that they will host Manchester City Football Club and FC Bayern Munich in an exhibition match for the USA Cup on July 23 at 6 p.m., Spectrum News 1 reported. The match is a part of FC Bayern's Audi Summer Tour and will occur while Manchester City is on their preseason trip in the U.S.
This marks the first soccer match to ever be hosted at Lambeau Field, and only the second time these two historical clubs will face each other in the U.S., the Packers reported in a release. The last match ended with a 3-2 victory for Manchester City back in July 2018. The organizers hope that the game will draw local sports lovers as well as devoted fans worldwide.
Tickets will be available on Ticketmaster starting May 6, with Packers season ticket holders getting special early access to passes on the morning of May 5, NBC 26 Green Bay reported.
Presale for FC Bayern and Manchester City season ticket holders began through their own ticketing systems on May 3, NBC 26 Green Bay reported.
Tickets are between $35-160, with parking passes for general ticket holders going for $20 on a first-come, first-served basis, the Packers reported.
