UW-Green Bay to Honor Retired Women's Basketball Coach Kevin Borseth with Street Naming Ceremony

UW-Green Bay will honor recently retired Phoenix Women’s Basketball Coach Kevin Borseth with the unveiling of “Kevin Borseth Way” on the Green Bay campus. The new street name near the Kress Events Center is a tribute to Borseth's illustrious coaching career.

"Kevin Borseth Way" will be officially unveiled on Tuesday, April 30 from 12 – 1 p.m. outside the main entrance of the Kress Events Center. Coach Borseth, Chancellor Michael Alexander, and UW-Green Bay Director of Athletics Josh Moon will be in attendance to share remarks during the ceremony.

Reflecting on his successful career, Borseth announced his retirement on April 10, 2024, after coaching for 37 seasons, including 21 with Green Bay. He left a lasting legacy with the Phoenix, winning numerous championships during his tenure.

Green Bay women’s basketball head coach Kevin Borseth shared his excitement about the upcoming event, stating, "I am truly honored to have 'Kevin Borseth Way' named after me at UW-Green Bay. It's a special recognition of the hard work and dedication that went into my coaching career."

Following Borseth's retirement, UW-Green Bay Athletics announced Kayla Karius as the new head coach of the women's basketball program. Karius, a former standout player at Green Bay, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity, saying, "I am thrilled to lead the Phoenix women's basketball team and continue the legacy that Coach Borseth has built."
