The Green Bay Packers have announced changes to their practice squad. They have signed linebacker Jamin Davis and released linebacker Chris Russell, as stated by General Manager Brian Gutekunst on Tuesday.
Jamin Davis, a player in his fourth year, was initially drafted by the Washington Commanders in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Kentucky before being picked 19th overall. During his time with Washington from 2021 to 2024, Davis appeared in 50 games, starting in 36 of them. His record includes 281 tackles, with 173 being solo efforts, along with seven sacks and an interception. In addition to these stats, he also has two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
In the year 2022, Davis achieved a career-high with 104 tackles and also recorded personal bests in several other categories including solo tackles (68), tackles for a loss (nine), and fumble recoveries (two). He matched his career-high of three sacks again in 2023. Jamin Davis will be wearing number 44 for the Packers.
