Green Bay, WI—The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) has opened registration for its 2025 catalog. This membership-based program caters to adults interested in learning during retirement or leisure time. It aligns with UW-Green Bay’s mission to educate learners of all ages.
The LLI offers 203 courses, including in-person, live and recorded online classes, as well as outdoor activities and tours. Topics cover a wide range from arts and crafts to science and history. Notable courses include "Queen Marinette: Her Life and Times" focusing on local history, and "Great Decisions 2025," which explores U.S. foreign policy issues.
Engagement in lifelong learning can keep the brain active and may reduce cognitive decline. Members often find satisfaction and purpose through new ideas, friendships, and reduced isolation.
“I have been a member of Lifelong Learning for more than ten years,” said Betty B., “and I cannot recommend the program enough. During our fall semester, I took a variety of classes with experiences that ranged from touring the lighthouse in Kewaunee to learning about the future of transportation.”
Prospective members can explore a searchable online course listing for Spring 2025 on the website. Courses are filled on a first-come, first-served basis requiring membership for participation.
The Spring 2025 semester fee is $100, allowing initial registration for up to 15 classes per semester with potential additional enrollments based on availability.
Membership benefits include invitations to social events, early registration notices, a newsletter subscription, and exclusive travel opportunities that may require an extra fee.
