The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is set to host an event titled “A Conversation with Congressman Adam Kinzinger” on March 5, 2025. The lecture will take place at 6 p.m. at The Weidner on the Green Bay campus and is part of the 'Understanding the Constitution' series sponsored by The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, Inc., and UW-Green Bay's Political Science program.

The event is free and open to the public, with registration currently available. Kristin Brey, a Wisconsin columnist and radio host, will moderate the conversation. Aaron Weinschenk, director of Social Sciences & Public Policy domain at UW-Green Bay, expressed enthusiasm about the event: “We are thrilled to host Congressman Adam Kinzinger and hear from him about the importance of and challenges to the Constitution and how this impacts everyone within our region, state and the nation.” He noted that Kinzinger would share insights into his concerns for the political system and his experiences on the January 6th Committee.

Kinzinger served in Congress from 2011 to 2022 as a representative for Illinois’ Sixteenth Congressional District. During his tenure, he was part of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Notably, he was one of two Republicans on the Select Committee investigating the January 6th Capitol attack. Following these events, he founded Country First, a movement now boasting over 100,000 members.

Before his congressional career, Kinzinger served in both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom with the Air Force. He continues to serve as a pilot in the Air National Guard at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

UW-Green Bay serves over 11,000 students annually across its four campuses in Northeast Wisconsin. The university offers numerous academic degrees and prides itself on being Wisconsin’s fastest-growing institution within the UW system.
