A new bar, The OC Oconto, has opened in the City of Oconto, aiming to offer a fresh take on community engagement and hospitality. Situated at 126 Huron Ave, the establishment combines tradition with modern design and emphasizes community involvement.

Rik Richards, a seasoned entrepreneur in the hospitality industry, is behind this venture. He stated, “This particular location was a solid investment because of the attached residence and a long-term tenant. It was an opportunity to create something special while also making a lasting impact in the community.”

The name "The OC Oconto" reflects local pride and aims to create a welcoming atmosphere for patrons. The bar plans to distinguish itself through unique features and community dedication. Richards mentioned, “Each month, I will donate a portion of our profits to a non-profit in our community.” Additionally, customers receive complimentary koozies with their first beer, and bartenders write names on the dry-erase bar top to foster connections.

The interior showcases reclaimed barnwood from Wisconsin for its bartop and walls. This rustic design is complemented by TVs, tables for gathering, and the area's only blackjack game.

Initially offering Peps DraftHaus pizza and fresh popcorn, The OC Oconto plans to expand its menu with a hoodless fryer system. Its signature drink is "The OC," an Orange Crush cocktail priced at $4 daily.

Richards envisions the bar as a casual neighborhood spot where locals can gather. “We want to be a place where everyone knows your name,” he said.

Future entertainment plans include collaborations with nearby businesses like The Yard and potential themed nights or happy hours.

The OC Oconto invites locals to experience this new addition to Oconto’s social scene.
