Dr. John Honish and his wife Pat have been instrumental in supporting the Bellin Health Oconto Hospital, following the closure of the old Oconto Memorial Hospital. "We were really upset when the old Oconto Memorial Hospital closed," Dr. Honish expressed, highlighting their motivation to get involved with securing funds for a new hospital facility.

The couple's commitment to healthcare access in their community led them to become active participants in finding a partner to build a new hospital, with Bellin stepping up to fulfill that role. Their dedication extends beyond healthcare as they are also significant contributors to local organizations and events within Oconto, including meal delivery for the Meals on Wheels program.

Proud citizens of Oconto, Dr. Honish and Pat value their connection to both the Bellin Health Oconto Hospital and their community at large. They wish to be remembered for their philanthropic legacy and commitment not only to healthcare but also to where they live and work.

Discussing family life, Dr. Honish shared, "We have four children: Eric, Craig, Diane and David. Altogether, we have nine grandchildren." Travel has been a cherished hobby for them, with memorable trips to Egypt, Alaska, and fishing excursions in Canada. Additionally, they are enthusiastic golfers who have played over one hundred courses across Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

For those considering becoming donors themselves, Dr. Honish advises recognizing the importance of local healthcare facilities: "We hope that new donors may also see the need for a local hospital and choose to donate to Bellin Health Oconto Hospital and Medical Clinics."
