The Green Bay Packers have scheduled their Annual Meeting of Shareholders for Friday, July 25, at 3 p.m. This event will present three candidates for election to the Packers Board of Directors: Timothy M. Bergstrom, Laurie A. Butz, and Edward R. Policy. Additionally, the meeting will mark the transition of leadership from Mark Murphy to Policy as Chairman, President, and CEO.
The candidate details will be included in proxy information distributed in June to over 539,000 shareholders ahead of the meeting. The nominees were introduced to the organization's Board of Directors during a recent session.
Timothy M. Bergstrom serves as president and CEO of Bergstrom Automotive in Wisconsin since 2021, with a career starting there in 1999. Laurie A. Butz holds the position of president and CEO at Capital Credit Union in Green Bay since 2021, bringing over 35 years of business and finance experience in Green Bay and Fox Valley. Edward R. Policy is currently chief operating officer and general counsel for the Packers and is set to assume his new roles at the Annual Meeting.
"We're excited to present three nominees for a vote of our shareholders," stated Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. "Tim's work at Bergstrom over the years, as well as his work in the community, has provided him with an excellent range of experiences that will guide his contributions to the Board." He added about Butz: "Laurie's work in the financial industry, as well as her dedicated volunteer leadership for a number of nonprofit organizations, has given her great perspective that will serve the Board well."
Murphy also expressed confidence in Policy's upcoming leadership: "I look forward to Ed taking over leadership of the Packers. He's been a tremendous asset to the organization and I'm confident he will be an excellent steward in the role."
Ahead of this meeting is the opening practice for Packers Training Camp on Wednesday, July 23, presented by Emplify Health by Bellin. Although details are not fully announced yet, attendees should expect practice sessions on meeting day.
During this shareholder gathering, two members—William F. Kress (elected originally in 2001) and Mark H. Murphy (2007)—will gain emeritus status.
"We are grateful for Will's work on the Board over the years," remarked Murphy about Kress’s contributions. Reflecting on his own tenure transitioning into emeritus status: "As I take on emeritus status myself, I'm proud to reflect on our accomplishments over the years and I look forward to seeing the organization continue to thrive."
Shareholders are entitled to four tickets per account for attending this annual assembly; those receiving electronic materials can print tickets after voting shares online.
