The Green Bay Packers, along with local public safety officials, are urging fans attending Saturday's preseason game against the New York Jets to take precautions due to high temperatures, humidity, and the possibility of thunderstorms.

Fans are encouraged to wear suitable clothing such as hats and sunscreen. Sunscreen lotion is allowed in the stadium if it is brought in an approved clear bag or carried loosely, but aerosol sunscreens and other aerosol products are not permitted.

Attendees are advised to stay hydrated during tailgating, pregame activities, and while inside the stadium. Drinking fountains are available in the Atrium, and bottled water can be purchased at concession stands.

For those needing relief from the heat, air-conditioned areas are accessible both inside and outside Lambeau Field. The Johnsonville Tailgate Village offers a climate-controlled environment, as do businesses within Titletown. Misting tents will also be set up in Titletown for visitors participating in pregame festivities.

Inside the stadium, ticket holders have access to cool spaces such as the Lambeau Field Atrium, Verizon Loft, and Miller Lite End Zone bar.

Emplify Health by Bellin shared several recommendations for staying safe in hot weather: “No matter your activity level, drink more water. Don't wait until you're thirsty to drink. Consuming plain water or drinks with electrolytes can help you stay hydrated and energized. Be cautious with liquids that contain alcohol or large amounts of sugar. Sugar-filled drinks and alcoholic beverages cause you to lose more body fluid and can dehydrate you faster. Keeping water nearby can help encourage more frequent intake.

Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing to allow your body to sweat and rid itself of heat.

Protect yourself from the sun. Even on cloudy days, the sun's UV rays can penetrate through. Wear a wide-brimmed hat (can also be great for keeping you cooler) and sunglasses and apply sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher. Look for sunscreen products (lotions, sprays and lip-balms) that say 'broad spectrum' or 'UVA/UVB protection' on their labels.”

Fans should watch for signs of heat exhaustion—such as dizziness, thirst, heavy sweating, nausea, or weakness—and respond by moving to a cooler area and drinking cool water if symptoms occur. Signs like confusion or unconsciousness may indicate heat stroke; in these cases call 911 immediately.
