The Green Bay Packers and Network Health honored three generations of U.S. Navy servicemembers from the Barlament family during Saturday's game against the New York Jets as part of 'Operation Fan Mail.' The program, now in its 19th season, recognizes military families and veterans at each Packers home game.
Dennis Barlament served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1968 during a period marked by the Vietnam War and Cold War tensions. His son Eric enlisted in 1990 and participated in Operation Desert Storm during the Gulf War. Continuing the tradition, Eric's son Nate is currently completing basic training at Naval Station Great Lakes.
"Three generations of Barlament men have proudly worn the Navy uniform, exhibiting remarkable courage, sacrifice and commitment to country. Not only have military values been passed down through generations, but so has an unwavering love for the green and gold," according to the Packers' statement.
Dennis and Eric attended Saturday’s game with their wives, Lila and Jaclyn. Jaclyn nominated her father-in-law Dennis, husband Eric, and son Nate for recognition.
Operation Fan Mail began in 2007 with the goal of honoring active duty service members or veterans along with their families. Selected families are recognized on video boards before each home game and receive four tickets courtesy of Network Health. In 2025, a family will be hosted at every home game for on-field recognition during pregame activities. Over 18 seasons, a total of 217 families have been honored through this initiative.
