A community survey has been released from the City of Green Bay in order to get feedback from residents and community stakeholders on uses for the allocated funds from the American Rescue Plan, according to the city's website

The American Rescue Plan (ARPA) was signed into law by President Joe Biden on March 11, and will deliver $350 billion to eligible state, local, territorial and tribal governments to aid in the response to and recovery from the COVID-19 emergency.

"My priority is ensuring residents have a voice in how the city should focus these investments. This is an unprecedented opportunity for the City of Green Bay to invest in its residents by funding initiatives that will improve their everyday lives. It allows us to improve housing options, support small business, build more climate resilient infrastructure and improve city services," Mayor Eric Genrich said in a press release.

There are restrictions for the ARPA funds as they must be focused on improving low-to-moderate income census tracts within the City of Green Bay and within certain categories for spending, according to the city's website.

These categories include addressing negative economic impacts, responding to small business and/or hardest hit industries in low-to-moderate census tracts, providing infrastructural investments in eligible categories and make necessary investments in local capital improvements such as stormwater and drinking water.

Additionally, the mayor will be hosting two Budget Town Halls in October seeking input from residents and community stakeholders.
