The Green Bay Public Works Department has announced a temporary modification to the operating schedule of the Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge, along with intermittent lane closures. This change is due to inspection activities scheduled for the bridge, located at Dousman and Main Streets.
Mariners are requested to provide a two-hour advance notice for bridge operation directly to the Bridge Tender on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, and Wednesday, May 29, 2024. The notice should be given between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day. Motorists are informed that the bridge will remain open to vehicular traffic during this period; however, single-lane closures may occur which could lead to potential back-ups.
The Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge is situated at Mile 1.58 over the Fox River in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Single-lane closures in both directions along Main Street from North Broadway to North Washington Street are expected.
No detour will be posted during this period. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained throughout the duration of these changes. All lane and work operations are subject to weather conditions and may change accordingly.
Motorists are advised to anticipate possible delays due to back-ups and exercise caution while driving through the work zone. They are also encouraged to seek alternate routes where possible.
