The Green Bay Packers announced the signing of fullback Henry Pearson and the waiving/injuring of running back Jarveon Howard. General Manager Brian Gutekunst disclosed these roster changes on Tuesday.
Pearson, a first-year player from Appalachian State, initially joined the Packers as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2023. He spent his rookie season on the Packers' practice squad and participated in two games as a gameday elevation. Pearson remained with Green Bay until his release on July 30. During his college career, he started 43 out of 59 games over five seasons (2018-22), recording 74 receptions for 897 yards (12.1 avg.) and 11 touchdowns. In 2022, he led the Mountaineers and tied for the conference lead among tight ends with a career-high five touchdowns. That same year, Pearson also set personal bests in receptions (25) and receiving yards (329). He received second-team All-Sun Belt honors from the league, Pro Football Focus, and Pro Football Network in 2022. Pearson will wear No. 44 for the Packers.
