The City of Green Bay is inviting the public to attend an open house for its Go Big Green Bay 2050 Comprehensive Plan. The event will take place on Wednesday, September 3, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at the Water Utility Training Center, located at 631 S Adams Street.
The open house aims to present how community feedback has been included in the draft plan that outlines the city's direction for growth and development through the year 2050. Spanish interpretation services will be provided during the event.
For those unable to attend in person, the city has made the draft comprehensive plan available for review and public comment online at www.gobiggreenbay.com until noon on September 4. Additionally, a special Plan Commission meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 4, at 6:00 PM in City Hall, Room 604, where the plan will also be presented.
The city notes that this open house marks a significant step in a year-long process of gathering input from residents through workshops, pop-up events, and visioning sessions across different neighborhoods.
"This comprehensive plan truly reflects the voice of our community," said Eric Genrich, Mayor of Green Bay. "We've listened to residents' ideas, concerns, and aspirations, and we're excited to show how their feedback has shaped our vision for Green Bay's future."
At the event, attendees can view displays featuring all ten neighborhood districts and five personality areas that were identified during planning efforts. The format is casual and self-guided; visitors may move through exhibits at their own pace while refreshments and activities for children are available.
The Water Utility Training Center’s location along the Fox River Trail provides additional access for community members. Street parking will be available along South Adams Street during the event.
The Go Big Green Bay 2050 Comprehensive Plan is intended as a guiding document for decisions related to land use, transportation systems, housing options, economic growth strategies, and municipal facilities over the next quarter-century.
