The Green Bay Packers and Fleet Farm are set to honor veterans and military members throughout November as part of the "Salute to Service" initiative. This annual event coincides with Veterans Day and includes special events, fundraising, discounts for military personnel, player visits, and gameday features.
Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy expressed pride in partnering with Fleet Farm for this initiative. "We thank the brave men and women who have served our country for their sacrifice this November and throughout the year," he said.
From November 1-20, fans can participate by rounding up purchases at Wisconsin Fleet Farm locations to benefit H.O.O.A.H. WI, a nonprofit focused on preventing suicide among service members and veterans. The Packers will match donations up to $10,000.
During Military Appreciation Week from October 5-12, the Packers organized various activities including an honor flight to Washington D.C., care packages for veterans at Woodside Senior Communities, support for families of fallen soldiers through TAPS, a ceremony at Lambeau Field for Order of St. Maurice recipients, mental health training programs for veterans, and a flag football tournament.
The Salute to Service game against the San Francisco 49ers will feature players wearing special equipment with NFL Salute to Service camo-ribbon decals. The stadium will display themed goal post wraps and pylon decals. Attendees will receive camo rally towels.
Lambeau Field Atrium businesses offer discounts for veterans and military members including free admission to the Packers Hall of Fame on Veterans Day. Discounts are also available at 1919 Kitchen & Tap and the Packers Pro Shop on select items during November. Fleet Farm provides additional discounts from November 7-11.
