Green Bay announces overflow trash collection guidelines for late December

During the week of December 30, 2024, to January 4, 2025, residents of Green Bay are permitted to place up to four 32-gallon plastic bags of "overflow" household trash next to their city-issued trash carts for free curbside collection. The additional bags must be placed at the curb by 6 a.m. on the designated collection day.

If more than four bags or other items are left for collection, they will be picked up with an associated charge. Items that will not be collected include construction waste, electronics, appliances, and move-out debris. If these items are found at the curb, they will also incur charges.

Residents can bring bulk household items to specified drop-off sites but cannot dispose of construction waste or recycling items there. Proof of residency is required at these locations:

- East Side Location: 1820 Mills Street (Entrance on Deckner Ave.)

- West Side Location: 519 S. Oneida Street (Entrance on Redwood Dr. off W. Mason St.)

Operating hours for these sites are Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the second and third Saturday of each month from 7 a.m. to noon.

Alternatively, residents may take their waste to the Brown County Transfer Station at 3734 W. Mason Street where dumping fees apply and safety gear may be required.

For further information, residents can contact the Department of Public Works – Operations Division at (920) 448-3535 during office hours or visit their website or Facebook page.
