Senator Jamie Wall announced that he and Representative Ryan Spaude attended Governor Tony Evers' budget address, where they requested $3 million for the Green Bay Public Market. This funding was included in the proposal, according to Feb. 19 press release.

According to the press release by Senator Wall, the Green Bay Public Market is expected to contribute $65 million to the economy and support over $100 million in surrounding development. The requested $3 million would help finalize project funding. The market will be owned and managed by the nonprofit On Broadway, Inc. Brian Johnson, CEO of On Broadway, Inc., welcomed the funding proposal.

On Broadway, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has over 27 years of experience in community engagement, economic vitality, and event promotion. It promotes the Broadway District as Green Bay's cultural core and manages the district’s Business Improvement District. The organization has facilitated over $100 million in new construction and development, organized community events, and worked on projects like the redevelopment of Leicht Memorial Park, according to information from the Green Bay Public Market website.

Wall expressed his commitment to improving the Green Bay area: "I’m always focused on making the Green Bay area an even better place to live, work, and raise a family," he said in the press release. "The Green Bay Public Market will create jobs and spur additional development for our community."

Wall represents Senate District 30 (D - Green Bay). He has experience advising businesses both within Wisconsin and nationally. He has been involved with Wisconsin’s economic development programs and played a role in creating New North, an organization aimed at fostering business growth in Northeast Wisconsin. Wall also serves as vice president of the Green Bay Water Commission and treasurer of his local neighborhood association; he is a former board member of the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation.
