On February 6, Ann Moeller, Parks and Recreation Manager for Green Bay Parks, Recreation and Forestry, received the Wisconsin Park and Recreation Association’s (WPRA) "Dr. George Wilson Service Award." This accolade recognizes her outstanding service to both the parks and recreation profession and WPRA.
Moeller has made significant contributions to the industry. She graduated in May 2003 with a degree in Elementary Education and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Her professional journey includes serving as the Aquatic Supervisor at Howard-Suamico School District from 2005-2006 before moving to the City of Green Bay. There, she was Recreation Supervisor from 2006-2022 and now holds the position of Recreation Manager.
Moeller's involvement with WPRA is notable. She has volunteered extensively for the association, participating on the conference committee in 2013, 2018, and this year for the 2025 Conference. Her roles have included being an Aquatic Section Board member, Region II Representative from 2010-2013, Chair-Elect in 2014, Aquatic Section Chair in 2015, Aquatic Section Representative from 2018-2021, and Communications Committee Chair since 2022.
Her dedication and contributions have distinguished her as a leader within WPRA. These efforts led to her recognition as this year's recipient of the George Wilson Service Award.
The Dr. George Wilson Service Award is given to current or retired members who have shown persistent accomplishment and continuous service to the State Association. Nominees must hold current professional certification by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) as a Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) or comparable certifications.
