The City of Green Bay Department of Public Works is set to commence its spring curbside collection of loose leaves, garden waste, and grass clippings starting Monday, April 14, 2025. The schedule will see adjustments due to the upcoming NFL Draft. Collection will proceed normally from April 14-18 but will be suspended from April 21-25 during draft activities. Normal service resumes from April 28 until May 16.

Residents are instructed to separate their yard waste into piles for collection—leaves and grass together, brush and branches separately—and bagged materials will not be accepted. Detailed route information can be accessed through an interactive map available on the city's website.

The final date for placing yard waste at the curb for pickup is May 12, after which residents must manage their disposal or incur fees. The city ordinance prohibits placing yard waste in streets; violations could lead to fines as staff monitor compliance.

"Residents are reminded that raking leaves into the street increases pollution of storm water, may cause flooding by blocking drainage structures," a statement reads. It further warns that such piles pose a danger to children.

For convenience, Yard Waste Drop-Off Centers operate daily from April 1 until Thanksgiving Day between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., located at East Shore Drive and Hurlbut Street. However, contractor-generated debris is not permitted at these sites or for curbside collection.

For more information or assistance, residents can contact the Department of Public Works – Operations Division during specified office hours or visit their online platforms.
